Sounds like you're enjoying the last leg of your sojourn in Africa, aimlessly wandering around Malawi ... I miss the beer-drinking policemen, the taunts from the children, and the political speeches. But it seems your UK/Israeli/German friends are making up for the loss. Whew!
Just got back from a family trip with my parents to Whitehorse & Seattle. We celebrated Dad's 86th birthday on August 7th with a cake and candles at Anne & Rosanne's house in Whitehorse ... Dad blew out all the candles with gusto!
Down in Seattle, my cousin Danielle Goldberg got married to a cool dude at an outdoor ceremony overlooking Puget Sound - there were even sailboats in the distance to make it all look supremely romantic.
I'm back in Montreal now. I go back to work on August 15 :-( It actually won't be so bad. I've had a great summer. I'm looking forward to reconnecting with my colleagues and meeting my new students.
I'm looking forward to seeing your mum and your sisters at At's on August 18.
