Here we go! After some awesome delays in Montreal and Amsterdam, I've lost a day of my life (Monday got killed by the time change) and I'm in Kenya! The weather is absurdly nice, with flowers and whatnot everywhere, and the whole group seems to be fighting jet lag pretty well. Today we're hitting up a park so "we can get gawking at giraffes and stuff" out of our system and hopefully getting an itinerary for the trip. We're at ISIPE (an insect research post) for a week, after which no one really knows what will be going down.
I'm missing y'all already and I'll ride a hippo or something for ya.

Finally got around to listening to the new Justin Timberlake album, and damn, I totally agree with pitchfork in that its awesome. Also been listening to 'Human Animal'-Wolf Eyes which has been fun, but its like 30 minutes long. Should have picked up some merzbow, but i have no idea where to start. Should just jump in somewhere

glad you arrived safely in kenya. i just got back from nyc. i was down there visiting cynthia and some other friends. i went to see alexander play basketball one day ... he lost ... but he won the next day! i also saw sebastian in "sleeping beauty" with the new york city ballet. he was a page. he was totally cute.
we're digging out from 20 cm of snow. have fun looking at giraffes!

ooo insect research post? anything specific? Is it cateloging work, or ecology, or your standard entimology? Oh, and great to hear that you made it over, and all of those tender like feelings, but MAN, the bugs must be awesome!
